When I get lucky enough to stumble across a great piece of curly black walnut like this, I cant' wait to see what it turns into. Though pictures don't do it justice, you can still see the great curly figure in this one, as well as the combination of both heartwood and sapwood. I made this one with a Crush Grind ceramic mechanism so it can be used for either salt or pepper. It stands just under 10" tall and will look fantastic on your kitchen counter or dining table. It's finished with 7 coats of oil and urethane so will last a lifetime. Easily cleaned by wiping off with a wet sponge or towel and the adjustments can be done at the bottom so there's no meddlesome knob on top to get in the way of your hand.
